After 1977, especially after 1989, Chinese people's mental problems are rising up rapidly. From 1992-2002, the research group have been surveying more than 90,000 people,  including communities, different social classes, college students, middle school students, pupils, workers, officials e.t.c. The methods have been used such as knocking the door investigation, questionnaire, making lecture in school or in radio/TV program, internet, group counseling, mental hotline, letter, newspaper, magazine, individual counseling and systematic interview.心理学空间&Pc!`4dAf.S(j`

The investigations content the following respects: 1.Bio-psycho-social status

It is shown that the Chinese people' mental problem might describe as following:

1. Conventional people relationship

2. Personality disorder

3. Pre-health status

4. Psychosomatic diseases

The inspectors supposed that the issue is caused by such a reason: tracing back five thousands

Chinese history, "family" had been Chinese people's home of the soul. After new China established over half a century, in municipal working unit, in countryside as the production team as well, they instead of the blood relation family, serviced almost everyone's cycling of the life and death, they actually had supplied the most majority stable spiritual support.心理学空间*p

After the reformation and opening policy has been started in China, particularly in the recent ten years, during which China have entered WTO, as the living standard rapidly raising, the stable status of society has been crushed greatly. The family structure had been greatly changed. The big conventional family had changed into little nuclear family, some family is broken.

However, the classes have no mental preparation, meeting even greater challenge, such as inflation, unemployment, revenge, instant wealth, population explosion, which have become serious competitive pressure.

The welfare system such as house supplying, medical care, pension has got weaken simultaneous, while the new systems haven't established yet. In the society , the people have turned into extremes: too rich or too poor.心理学空间 NwU$wk0[

Hence the Chinese people's stress, anxieties, depression have been reached to such a level that hadn't been ever before.
